Margrete Skulesdatter

c. 1208 to 1270

Margrete Skulesdatter, c. 1208 to 1270, was the daughter of Duke Skule Bårdsson and married King Håkon Håkonsson in 1225. She was the mother of King Magnus the Lawmender, who issued the national law (landsloven) in 1274. Through her father she descended from Tora Skoftesdatter at Giske. It is possible that the blood from Giske thus met from two sides in Magnus the Lawmender, through her and through the royal line.

Daughter of Duke Skule Bårdsson, of the Giske family through Tora Skoftesdatter. Queen, married to King Håkon Håkonsson in 1225. She was the mother of King Magnus the Lawmender.
