Ågmund Torbergsson, probably born around 1020, took over Giske after his father Torberg. His wife was called Gudrun or Sigrid; the sources disagree. She was the daughter of Tord Folesson, the man who carried King Olaf the Holy's standard, and Ålov Einarsdatter, and through her blood from the Lade jarls in Trøndelag came into the Giske family. Ågmund was the father of Skofte, who continued the family on the island.
