Ragna Erlingsdatter, married in 1177, inherited the Bjarkøy estate in Troms from her father Erling Vidkunnsson the Elder. She married the lawman Bjarne Mårdsson, a judge learned in the law, and her son Ivar became lendmann at Bjarkøy. The Bjarkøy line thus continued through a woman, in a period where the generations are disputed. Her descendant Bjarne Erlingsson married into Giske around 1270.
