Krummedike is to claim the inheritance from Lunge and his mother-in-law
DN 12/434 · 23 June 1529 · Kbhvns. Slot
What the letter says
King Frederik I writes from Copenhagen Castle on Midsummer Eve 1529 to Henrik Krummedike. Holger Rosenkrantz has reported that Vincens Lunge and his wife's mother have taken an inheritance in movables and landed estate that rightfully belongs to Holger's brother's children, and that they still hold it. Holger is occupied in the king's service and cannot travel to Norway. Therefore Krummedike is to pursue the case on his behalf, claim the inheritance and take security for it until the case is judged.
The letter in modern English
We Frederik, by the grace of God King of Denmark, of the Wends and the Goths, elected King of Norway, Duke of Schleswig, Holstein, Stormarn and Dithmarschen, Count of Oldenburg and Delmenhorst, greet you, our dear Lord Henrik Krummedike, knight, our man and councillor, lovingly with God and our grace. Know that our dear Lord Holger Rosenkrantz, knight, our man, servant and official at our castle of Nykøbing, has reported to us that our dear Lord Vincens Lunge, our man and councillor, and his wife's mother have taken some inheritance in movables and landed estate, received it and collected from it, and still wrongfully keep it. This inheritance has rightfully fallen to Lord Holger's brother's children. And he is now held back here on our business, so that he cannot travel into Norway and sue them over it in court at this time on behalf of his brother's children. Therefore we ask and command you to sue Lord Vincens Lunge and his wife's mother over this inheritance on his behalf, and to demand, request and receive full security for it from them, until the case comes to court and he then obtains judgement for himself according to the law. Given at our castle of Copenhagen on the eve of St John the Baptist [23 June] in the year etc. 1529 under our signet. Relator [the one who put the matter forward]: Lord Mogens Gøye, knight and steward.

Background
Lunge's «wife's mother» is fru Inger of Austrått (died 1555), mother of Margrete Nilsdatter, who was married to Vincens Lunge. The letter was written just before the herredag in Oslo, where Duke Christian and the Council of the Realm were to meet, and it gave Henrik Krummedike authority to appear there for the Rosenkrantz children. Krummedike was one of the most powerful Danish-Norwegian magnates and had large interests of his own in Norway. He won the case in August (DN 9/637). To demand «fyllest» here means to obtain full payment or a pledge for the value while the case was pending. The relator was the adviser who had put the matter to the king, here the steward of the realm Mogens Gøye.
