What the letter says
An undated list, probably from Christmas 1533 to 1534 and written for Archbishop Olav, names property he was to have from fru Ingerd. It covers the Tinnes farms with 4 spann and 1 øre of land rent, Gudestad and Finnsæter in Skogn, Ystad at Røra in Inderøy, Foss in Gauldalen and Furuseter. Background
The list is a draft of the exchange of land that fru Inger and Archbishop Olav Engelbrektsson made in March 1534, when the same farms passed to the archiepiscopal see. Fru Inger owned much land in Trøndelag through the Austrått estate after her husband Nils Henriksson. Spann and øre were units of land rent, the yearly rent paid by tenant farmers, and show how much each farm was worth. That the names appear with variants such as «Finnsæter or Finnen» suggests that the scribe was unsure of the name forms. The exchange was probably part of the settlement after the conflict of 1531 to 1532.
