Original text

Tilladelse for Fru Giøruel Faddersdatter, Hr. Sk. R. 1, 395.

Background

Hunting was the king's privilege, and the large game in the forests was reserved for the crown. In the life grant Gjørvel had been obliged to protect the game. The permission came four days after the deed and was sent together with the king's letter of thanks for the Giske estate. It shows how the king rewarded her with small privileges on top of the compensation itself.
