NRR 10, s. 362 · 21. og 22. juli 1655 · København
The income from the Giske estate, which the Crown now leased out, is used here as a pension for the Danish nobleman Erik Banner. The pension amounted to about 40 per cent of what the lessee paid.
What the letter says
In Copenhagen on 21 July 1655 King Frederick III grants Erik Banner of Boserup 500 riksdaler a year from the Giske estate in Norway, reckoned from last May Day and until other arrangements are made. The money is to be paid by the lessees of the estate. The next day, 22 July, Sir Gregers Krabbe is informed of this, so that he can require the lessees to pay Banner the money on time each year.

Background
The income from the Giske estate was here used as a pension for a Danish nobleman. Erik Banner of Boserup was a Danish nobleman. The pension came to about 40 per cent of the 1160 riksdaler Henning Hansson paid for the lease. Gregers Krabbe was responsible for the Crown's income in Norway and was probably governor-general. In 1657 Banner gave up the pension, and it passed to Sten Hondorf.
