What the letter says
King Frederick III asks Jakob Ulfeldt, Nils Lange and Peder Vibe to settle accounts with Sir Hannibal Sehested. The king has conveyed and made over to him the Giske, Verne abbey and Nygård estates as payment, together 43,378 riksdaler. They are to calculate what else the king owes him according to letters and bonds, with interest from the dates of the letters. Verne abbey and Nygård, valued at 18,582 riksdaler, are to stay with Sigvard Gabrielsson Akeleye for his lifetime, and until Sehested receives the property he is to have interest on that sum every year.
The letter in modern English
Jakob Ulfeldt, Nils Lange and Peder Vibe received a letter to settle accounts with Sir Hannibal Sehested. Frederick III. Our favour first. Since Sir Hannibal Sehested etc. has a considerable sum of money to claim from us and the Crown, for which we have now conveyed and made over to him various property belonging to us and the Crown of Norway, namely the Giske, Verne abbey and Nygård estates, which together are to amount to 43,378 riksdaler, we ask you to make a proper settlement with the said Sir Hannibal Sehested of what we further owe him according to proper letters and bonds, with the interest on them from the dates of the letters, according to our special missive to our said governor-general dated Frederiksborg 22 December 1648. Next, since the Verne abbey and Nygård estate, which we have conveyed and made over to Sir Hannibal Sehested, is to remain with Sigvard Gabrielsson [Akeleye] etc. for his lifetime according to his letter of enfeoffment, unless he himself can agree with him to give it up for a certain sum, we graciously wish that you each year pay the said Sir Hannibal Sehested interest on the sum at which the property is valued, namely 18,582 riksdaler, until by the deed it can pass to him. Likewise, since we have also graciously granted that the said Sir Hann[ibal ...]

Background
If the value of Verne abbey and Nygård is subtracted from the total, the Giske estate is left at around 24,800 riksdaler. That is a calculation from the letter. For comparison, the Giske estate was valued in 1531 at 3000 Bergen guilders (DN 16/540), but the coins and prices were quite different, so the figures cannot be compared directly. In the edition the letter follows one dated Frederiksborg 22 December 1648 and itself refers to a missive of that date.
