Sehested gives up the revenue from Gjørvel's estate in Akershus fief

NRR 9, s. 315 · 6. mars 1649 · København

Under the letters of 1648 Hannibal Sehested could take property from Gjørvel Fadersdatter's estate. Here he gives up the revenue from the part lying in Akershus fief, perhaps because as governor-general he already had the income there.

What the letter says

In Copenhagen on 6 March 1649 King Frederick III accepts the offer from Sir Hannibal Sehested to give up the revenue from the late Lady Gjørvel Fadersdatter's estate in Akershus fief, which he was to have received by an open letter from the king dated Frederiksborg. The king thanks him and promises to acknowledge it with royal favour.

Background

By the letters of June 1648 Sehested could take property of Gjørvel's both north and south of the mountains. Now he gave up the revenue from the part lying in Akershus fief, perhaps because as governor-general he already held Akershus and its income. That is an inference. The letter does not say what he received in return. Two years later Sehested fell from favour.
